A violin maker, a printer, a set builder, a jeweller's bench. The city's hands.
Behind the city
New York still makes things, mostly behind unmarked doors on upper floors. We take clients into the workrooms — a bench, a press, a kiln, a bindery — with the person who has spent thirty years at it.
Where the maker is willing, your client leaves with something of their own making, or something made for them.
Why New York
Artists still live and work here in numbers no other American city keeps — Bushwick, Long Island City, and lofts held since the seventies.
Why KNOWN
These are personal relationships, not bookings. We ask on your client's behalf, we brief the artist properly first, and sometimes the answer is no. We would rather that than a staged studio visit.
Illustrative, not a package. Every element is confirmed against the date, the party and what the partner can honour.
