A candlelit private dining room in a New York townhouse before service

The townhouse table

A room held back for the evening, a menu written that afternoon, a wine list that answers to the meal.

New York at the table

Not a private dining room bolted onto a restaurant — a house, a kitchen and a chef given a single table for the night. The menu is written the day of, against what the market gave up that morning.

We sit with the chef beforehand on your client's behalf: what they eat, what they avoid, how long they want the evening to run, and whether anyone should be speaking at all.

Why New York

New York gave the private house back to dining: a kitchen a block from the market that supplied it that morning, in a room that never advertised it existed.

Why KNOWN

The chef writes the menu for your client because we sat down with them first. Nobody is reading a dietary note off a booking system at seven o'clock.

What it can include

  • 01Exclusive use of a private house or dining room
  • 02A menu written for the party, not selected from one
  • 03Sommelier pairing or a corkage arrangement for your client's own cellar
  • 04A conversation with the chef before service
  • 05Discreet security and car coordination

Illustrative, not a package. Every element is confirmed against the date, the party and what the partner can honour.

Good to know

  • Most houses hold a minimum spend rather than a per-head price.
  • Dietary and cultural requirements are handled directly with the kitchen.
  • Fridays and Saturdays in the autumn book earliest.
